Between June 22 and 30, the  researchers Luis Poersh and Eduardo Secchi conducted a mission to Brussels, Belgium. Meetings were held to discuss phase 2 of the proposal to be forwarded to the European Community under the H2020 BlueEco notice. The meeting was held at the Norwegian Consulate office between representatives of FURG and other partners from Norway, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Belgium and France. The proposal submitted by the consortium was approved first in phase 1 and if approved in the final stage could receive up to 8 million euros.

Also, a meeting was held at INVE AQUACULTURE's headquarters to discuss partnerships between FURG and the company, whose interest is to test products in the line of animal nutrition (fish and shrimp) and the joint development of super-intensive shrimp production technologies. Possible researches to be developed later this year was discussed (agreement to be signed in the coming days) and the possibility of postgraduate studies (doctorate) for company researchers, which has a strong research area. The researchers also had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Ghent University Aquaculture Laboratory, whose coordinator is Dr. Peter Bossier. During lectures given in Ghent it was discussed about the possibilities of exchange of students and researchers between the two institutions, as well as possibilities of co-tutelage and double degree. Also presented were the main results of research conducted at FURG in the area of ​​aquaculture, ending with a discussion between researchers from both countries and graduate students.

As a final result of the mission, it was established that a student from PPGAqui went to the University of Ghent, with the possibility of double degree, a formal agreement between INVE and FURG, and FURG's participation in the H2020 BlueEco proposal.
