Professor Pedro Almeida Silva, member of the PrInt FURG, took part in the 6th meeting of the BRICS Tuberculosis Research Network in New Delhi, India, (November 4, 5 and 6). The professor was part of the official Brazilian delegation in this forum that aims to stimulate cooperation between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa in the development of projects that can, through the incorporation of diagnostic innovations, vaccines and drugs - which were developed within the BRICS - pave the way for tuberculosis reduction over the next 15 years. In this occasion, the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced the release of a five-million real notice for projects in collaboration between Brazilian researchers with partners from the other BRICS countries. Tuberculosis control is a global emergency and is one of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This theme is part of the project Prevention and Control of Diseases and Disorders that Affect Human Health and Its Life Quality in Coastal Ecosystems that makes up the institutional PrInt-FURG.
